Happy to announce I’ve accepted a role as VP of Operations at TicketCity! After my first full week, I am really impressed with the team and systems that go into powering a 9-figure, 30%+ CAGR ecommerce marketplace. Technology, customer service, fraud– all done in-house. What is more impressive than the operation are the people on the team. TicketCity was founded in 1990 (a pre-Internet business) and many folks on the team have been with the company more than a decade. That industry experience and the values on display around the office has created a unique (and my wife will hate to hear this word) culture that drives everything.
Originally the role was advertised as VP of Technology to fill the shoes of the outgoing CTO. After meeting with the President and discussing TicketCity’s needs, he suggested a role that leads the tech team but also improves process and evangelizes technology across the organization. Needless to say, that sounds perfect to me and so far I’m even more energized each day. Marketplace hosting is still done in-house, so another cloud migration is in my future. But for now, learning all the technical systems and secondary ticket market is top priority. And getting used to wearing a dress shirt everyday.
